Technical advice!

I have just taken my bike out of the garage and it felt weird pushing it. As it turns out the head race bearings are FUBAR! I tried adjusting them but they are FUBAR! I have the whole front end off and the bottom race are being a little stubborn. Any advice as to how to get these pesky little criters off Please.

Re: Technical advice!

Had the same problem Pepper had to resort to a 4" grinder in the end, cut into the bearing without touching the tube and used a chisel to split the last bit, there were that solid...you name it I tried it, homemade drift, heat, brute force :wtf:

Next time I'm getting the grinder out first...ok maybe try heat

Happy days. Good old Mr angle grinder to the rescue. Now lets hope the right bearings get here in time.

I usually wait until the new ones arrive before butchering the old ones

Re: Technical advice!

I bet that Yamaha still use the same old head race bearing on current models, you shouldn't have any trouble sourcing a All Balls kit
